Panels flowed seamlessly and the story was also awesome. The Mysteries of Unland is a five-issue miniseries written by Kim Newman and Maura McHugh with Tyler Crook on art duties and Julián Totino Tedesco on covers. At first disgruntled at what he perceives to be a mundane murder mystery, he soon finds himself attacked by giant eels, and so starts to feel right at home. If you are grossed out by eels you might not want to read this, it's full of eels. Have to say this weird little tale really transported me to another world as if I were immersed in a 360 degree film. The art was also a little off. Put in the right setting, he could really shine. Hallam is the source of a popular health tonic, a model industrial town reclaimed from the marshes.
1616556307 This was my first reading in this universe so that may have influences.I was going to give this a 3 star rating because horror is not really my cup of tea but the ending was so interesting! In "The Mysteries of Unland", I finally got a sense of his skill-set: detection!
Highly Recommended. Collects Witchfinder: The Mysteries ofSir Edward Grey is sent to Hallam to investigate the death of a Crown-appointed official, but once he is there he hears rumors of the mysterious Unland—the wetlands around the town—and the creatures that inhabit it. No knowledge of prior volumes is necessary either.I came for the cover by Mignola and stayed for the plot and interesting art style. The elegant artworks doesn't hurt either. 3: The Mysteries of Unland” as Want to Read: And I'm glad I did. Hallam is the source of a popular Mike Mignola's comic book universe based around Hellboy and the BPRD is a fine and amazing thing, but this is an unusually distinctive entry that stands out a bit. It's something along the lines of Lovecraft's Dunwitch tale but honestly I have to say Kim Newman has outclassed Lovecraft by several levels of frights and smarts. Sir Edward Grey is sent to Hallam to investigate the death of a Crown-appointed official, but once he is there he hears rumors of the mysterious Unland—the wetlands around the town—and the creatures that inhabit it. Welcome back. No characters left any sort of impression, though I do like the main character of Sir Edward Grey. The Witchfinder returns to form with a mystery in the boggy hinterlands of England, which puts the old ways against the encroaching modernity of industry. 3 With the help of a mysterious woman, Grey faces raging waters and the eel assassins that have haunted his every step! Trust me. though the ending was too much "Elder Gods will kill us all" to keep my positive momentum going.

Though this series always feels a tad inessential to the greater end of the world plot of the main series, I had more fun reading this arc than the past few "B.P.R.D" and "Abe Sapien" ones.Overall, this had the feel of a decent backup story, but not one worthy of 5 issues of story. I've never quite understood where Sir Grey falls into the "Hellboy" stories. You’ll LOVE this story then. This is the first new Witchfinder book in some time and it sees Mike Mignola step back as Kim Newman and Maura McHugh take over the writing - and unfortunately produce the only dismal volume in the series so far. Sir Edward Grey digs deeper into the shocking truth about Unland even as the city drowns in the rising waters. The five-issue miniseries was finally announced on the 7th of March at Edward Grey is sent to Hallam to investigate a mysterious death. Edward Grey is back in Blighty where he belongs, but the story just didn't grab me. 2 was all right, and number 3 is mediocre. Take your favorite fandoms with you and never miss a beat. possess. Paired with some grisly deaths, I plowed through this volume at a quick pace, eager to find out what horror was being visited on the townThe creepiest story out of the Mignola-verse in a while.
