Can someone explain how the EDP plays into girl's soccer? The DA concept is great but I don't believe that any of the DA teams at the age groups can beat the top teams in the DMV. ECNL & Trace Expand Relationship to Help Member Clubs and Players Access Video and Recruiting Services During Crucial Time Richmond, VA (August 12, 2020) - The ECNL and Trace are excited to announce an expanded relationship with additional benefits for ECNL Member Clubs. ECNL is a pretty good idea but only for 16/17 year old kids. If DA had one team and ECNL had 3 teams in NOVA then this would let all the other teams stay together and enjoy soccer at a competitive level. With too many “elite” options, this battle is going to destroy the small clubs as well as water down each other.

We are talking about the DA of today vs ECNL, not the DA of 2007.

Those players declined going to Disney, so we ended up taking U-16 "B" team players.
Let’s figure out how to work together. One thought on this is that in order for DA to really be top of the pyramid, it should only have one team in NOVA. DA, ECNL, NPL, EDP, LIJSL, etc. The USYSA National league has been around forever, as have the USYSA regional leagues, and they offer a perfectly fine platform for those who wish to play HS and be recruited for college, and at much less cost than ECNL. Wow, has it been an interesting year so far for girls club soccer. The NYCSL group of leagues is thriving. Otherwise it is just watered down like all the other options in the area. Some say it's better than NPL, others weaker. They already had to roster kids for our teams this year. Top clubs either don't play in CJSA at all, or they only play in the Elite league so they can play for State Cup championships. ECNL alignment There should be many fewer DA teams across the country and then you have created a pyramid model. On our U-17 team, we rostered some U-17 players from our club's "B" team for Texas.

Exposure to top leagues in the Northeast for our Elite players (ECNL, EDP National and NEP NPL) without the need to give up High School soccer Napa Soccer Academy (NorCal NPL) vs.
Pipeline, Arlington, Loudon are all much stronger.
No need for DA and ECNL to destroy each other - both will provide different elite options depending on what is most important to your kid.
