Dear club members, supporters, sponsors and hospitality partnersAs has been well documented over the weekend, the 2020 NRL season will be impacted by the application of border restrictions limiting travel between New Zealand and Australia together with an Australian government directive that requires matches to be played behind closed doors until further notice. With the support of the NRL and in consultation with the playing group, the Vodafone Warriors have taken the decision for our NRL team to remain in Australia and play the round two NRL premiership fixture against the Canberra Raiders on Saturday, March 21 at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast. The outlook for the 2020 NRL competition and participation by the Vodafone Warriors squads is unclear after round two. This spirit is the very essence of “All In”.As we work through the best course of action for our valued members, fans, sponsors and hospitality partners, we would ask that you hold tight and await further information as we won’t be able to provide any answers over the phone or via email at this point. We will be in touch again with each stakeholder group through the appropriate channels once we have information on next steps to share with you.
The landscape around the COVID-19 crisis is changing rapidly, so we are monitoring the situation and working closely with our governing body and the club’s owners to consider all options. There is a lot to take into account, so as a club we now need time to assess this situation before providing any further communications and appreciate your patience while we work through this unprecedented situation. Now, as much as ever, we value your support and understanding. The unveiling of the draw today has confirmed five of their 12 home games have been set down for Saturdays, five on Friday nights and two on Sundays. WARRIORS
