By 1977 Cooper was teaching sculpture at DeAnza College in Cupertino, California. As a friend and photographer of the Rolling Stones, Michael Cooper (1941-1973) is an artist well known for his intimate photographs of the sixties music scene. He taught art and design for 34 years at De Anza and Foothill Colleges, and the California College of Art in San Francisco.
